Height: 8 to 15 feet

Light: Part Sun to Part Shade

Bloom: Large terminal panicles of bright red tubular flowers followed by smooth brown seed capsules containing two seeds

Bloom Time: Mid Spring for flowering, Fall for seed maturity.

Growth Habit: Deciduous. Attractive large leaves. Rounded canopy. Stunning when in bloom.

Comments: Requires moist but well drained soil. Good as an underplanting with large shade trees or a woodland setting. Attractive to hummingbirds. Seeds toxic to pets. Seeds will rot if not planted as soon as they fall.
